New Antic: Italian designer Uto Balmoral breathes new life into antiquity with this pop and completely off-the-wall reinterpretation of an ancient bust. Far from the solemnity of classical statues, this young Adonis seems surprised himself by the pink bubble of chewing gum coming out of his mouth! The maverick Uto Balmoral appropriates fragments of classical antiquity and connects them to the present in a playful and surreal way. He subverts the cultural legacy of antiquity with provocation and mischief. The resin perfectly mimics white marble. The pink glass bubble of chewing gum serves as a diffuser: the LED bulb inside emits a warm light.

This sculptural object, straddling the line between art and design, creates a dreamlike and extravagant world that is at once provocative, funny, and absurd.
