Born in the heart of the capital's gardens, Fermob's Luxembourg collection brings the same conviviality to your outdoors as the wide avenues of the Luxembourg Gardens. Heir to the legendary Sénat chair created in 1923 for the Jardin du Luxembourg, it offers you a true fragment of Paris, welcoming and timeless, to prolong every moment outdoors.
Revisited heritage, refined design
In 2004, the French company Fermob was chosen to rethink the legendary Sénat Chair, created in 1923 by the workshops of the City of Paris. This chair, used in prestigious Parisian landmarks such as the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Tuileries and the Palais Royal, is one of the symbols of Paris, along with Haussmann newsstands and Morris columns. Fermob entrusted designer Frédéric Sofia with the task of modernizing it. He reinvented the icon to create a chair that was revised from top to bottom, more welcoming, more generous and designed for everyday comfort. Renamed Luxembourg, this reinterpretation gave rise to an entire collection of outdoor furniture, designed to bring this Parisian spirit into private gardens.
