Description
Maija Isola's iconic Unikko floral pattern is the hallmark of the Marimekko house. It was designed in 1964, just after the founder of the Marimekko brand, Armi Ratia, had publicly proclaimed that she was banning floral motifs as outdated. Maija Isola challenged her by designing a series of floral motifs whose style was so innovative and fresh that Armi changed her mind. Ironically, the Unikko pattern became the brand's emblem.
Cheerful, chic and graphic, Marimekko's tableware collection brings your home to life! Simple shapes highlight the collection's superb patterns. You can create your own coordinated service, or mix and match cups, plates and bowls to create your own style!
Made to last, Marimekko's cups, mugs and plates are crafted in stoneware ceramic, with designs that won't fade over time. Compatible with the demands of modern living, all items in the collection are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe.
Founded in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, an art of living based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its reputation dates back to 1960, when Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses by Marimekko. The brand's success continues to this day, with a range of clothing and accessories in vibrant colors, for a home full of inspiration!
