This version of the Pulcina Coffee maker is suitable for induction hobs. It is equipped with a double Funnel filter that enables two types of coffee to be prepared: a classic espresso, or a filter coffee (or "American-style").
Pulcina was born from the meeting of three Italian titans: Illy coffees, master designer Michele De Lucchi and manufacturer Alessi. While Pulcina may look impressive from the outside with its rounded, cut-out shape, it's inside that the real precision work lies. The technology was developed after many years of research with IllyCaffè, in order to obtain the best possible coffee. The shape of the water tank, spherical and narrowed at the top, has been designed to leave a space where the air is pressurized before the water boils for a purer, more intense taste. The two tanks have been cut into 'staircases': they alternate different thicknesses of material, adapted to the heating and cooling of the coffee. Pulcina automatically interrupts the coffee's rise at just the right moment, eliminating the so-called 'strombolian' phase of extraction, the cause of coffee's bitter, burnt aftertaste. Even the Pourer spout, inspired by a chick's beak, has been specially designed to cut the drip perfectly when pouring. Pleasure guaranteed!
