Santiago de Borja Vase: when the art of Shirley Villavicencio Pizango meets design
A dazzlingly successful Belgian-Peruvian painter, Shirley Villavicencio Pizango is now renowned for her expressive, colorful Cloths exhibited in Europe's finest galleries. Revealed by Gallery Sofie Van de Velde in Antwerp, she embodies a new generation of female artists whose freedom of tone and sincerity overturn codes. Her universe celebrates spontaneity, the warmth of gesture and the vital energy of color: values she transposes here in the Santiago de Borja collection for Serax, a tribute to her dual culture and the lush nature of her origins.
A pictorial, free and vibrant design
Shaped in enameled sandstone and then hand-painted, the Vase reveals naïve yet powerful motifs: stylized foliage, faces, totemic symbols. The bold hues - Forest green, Cobalt blue, Terracotta - reflect the light and convey an almost primitive intensity. Each piece expresses the fusion of art and craftsmanship.
A work of art for everyday life
Sculptural and expressive, the Santiago de Borja Vase turns Decoration into an artistic experience. Alone or in combination with other models, it infuses emotion, warmth and uniqueness.
In a contemporary, bohemian or eclectic interior, this hand-painted creation asserts a bold, sunny style. A veritable manifesto of living art, the Santiago de Borja Vase brings Shirley Villavicencio Pizango 's poetry into the home.
