From Paris to Finland

The story of Ridge begins with the travels of Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters, the two designers behind Kaksikko. Attentive to the architectural details they encountered in various cities, they ultimately drew inspiration for the Vase from a Parisian door. Back in their Finnish studio, hand-drawn sketches, paper models, and ceramic prototypes gradually gave rise to its unique form.

Its vertical lines echo this architectural reference. The surface is crisscrossed with raised striations that form a delicate serrated edge, lending the object a more organic quality. A small handle is integrated into the silhouette to make it easier to move. Even without flowers, Ridge retains the character of a sculptural object.

Glass: Between Color and Transparency

This version of the Ridge vase is made of hand-blown frosted glass and then acid-etched to achieve its frosted appearance. This finish plays with the material’s transparency and subtly nuances the light orange color. Every detail contributes to the Vase’s expression, from the ridges that catch the light to its profile, which is only 6 cm deep.
