Rivan Children’s bookshelf cane & fibres / Wall shelf - L70 x H 35 cm

Rivan Shelf, a rattan storage unit that can be placed on a surface or hung on the wall

With its horizontal design and two compartments, the Rivan Shelf offers a simple and decorative way to keep books, toys, and little treasures on display. Crafted from natural rottan woven around an internal iron frame, it combines the warmth of a vegetal fibre with a versatile design. Rivan can be mounted on the wall to free up floor space or simply placed on a surface, depending on the room’s layout. Its slightly wavy edge further softens its silhouette and gives it a natural presence that’s particularly well-suited for a child’s bedroom.

Storage that showcases items

Rivan is designed as much for display as for storage. Its two open compartments allow book covers, a few toys, or small items that a child particularly cherishes to remain in plain sight. This front-facing display immediately brings the piece to life and transforms its contents into an integral part of the decor. The woven rattan adds a warm texture, while the slightly wavy design of the upper section prevents the unit from looking too rigid, unlike a traditional shelf.

Can the Rivan shelf be mounted on the wall?

Yes. Rivan can be mounted on the wall or placed on the floor, allowing you to adapt its setup to the layout of the room. When mounted on the wall, it frees up floor space and creates visual storage at a height of your choice. When placed on the floor, it becomes more easily accessible to children.

What can you store on the Rivan shelf?

Its two compartments can hold books, toys, or small decorative objects. The open design is particularly well-suited for items you want to keep visible and within easy reach, rather than objects meant to be hidden away.

How much space do you need for the Rivan shelf?

Rivan measures 70 cm (W) x 35 cm (H) x 20 cm (D). Its shallow depth makes it easy to place against a wall, above a small piece of furniture, or directly on the floor, without significantly encroaching on walkway space.

Are all Rivan shelves identical?

No. Since each piece is hand-woven, slight variations may occur from one piece to another. These variations reflect the artisanal nature of the craftsmanship and make each shelf slightly unique.

Rivan lets you create a lightweight, visible storage solution that’s easy to adapt. Whether mounted on the wall or placed on the floor, its natural rottan provides a warm, simple backdrop for books and small everyday items.
