Savoia Dining Chair: Barber & Osgerby’s Precision for Kartell

With Savoia, Kartell launches its collaboration with Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, resulting in a chair that is at once lightweight, precise, and meticulously crafted. The painted moulded aluminium frame forms a continuous line that extends all the way to the armrests. These subtly envelop the seat without weighing down the silhouette. The backrest and seat, with their softened contours, balance out this sleek, graphic design. Made in Italy, this dining chair combines visual impact, comfort, and versatility in a design suited to both home and professional settings.

Armrests designed as a seamless extension of the Structure

The most distinctive detail of this version of Savoia lies in its armrests. The Aluminium profile rises from the bases, curves around the seat, and then follows the body in a continuous line. This sleek design gives the armchair a sense of visual lightness while reinforcing its formal coherence. The armrests reach a height of 68 cm, allowing you to maintain a natural posture around a table while offering more support than a traditional chair.

Is the Savoia armchair comfortable for long meals?

Yes. With a seat height of 46 cm, armrests, and a wide, rounded backrest, the Savoia provides support suitable for extended use at a table. Its slightly contoured seat and armrests provide added comfort for meals, meetings, or time spent at the table. Its dimensions— 56 cm wide and 51 cm deep —are compact enough to maintain a smooth flow around the table.

Can the Savoia armchair be used outdoors?

Yes. This version is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Its painted aluminium frame and seat made of mineral-filled recycled technopolymer are weather-resistant. Savoia can therefore be placed in a dining room, on a patio, or in an outdoor dining area, while maintaining the same aesthetic consistency.

Is the Savoia armchair suitable for restaurants and hotels?

Yes. Its combination of visual lightness, sturdiness, and comfort makes it an ideal choice for restaurants, hotels, reception areas, and contract projects. The armrests add an extra touch of warmth, while the slender structure allows for multiple armchairs to be arranged around a table without creating an overly bulky look.

What colors are available for the Savoia armchair?

This version of the Savoia is available in Charcoal grey, Blue, Rusty, and Green. Charcoal grey highlights the slender frame. Blue adds a more graphic and contemporary touch. Rusty warms up the space, while Green blends naturally into patios and green spaces.

With its armrests designed as a natural extension of the legs, Savoia takes on a more enveloping feel without losing the lightness that characterizes the collection. Whether placed around a dining table, in a restaurant, or on a patio, it offers extra comfort while maintaining a clean, architectural silhouette.
