Sculpture Table lamp ceramic white / Hand-moulded plaster - Serax

The Belgian artist, Marie Michielssen, has a preference for materials that she can mould by hand. She allows herself to be guided by her intuition, to give shape to items with an atypical and poetic look. Adopting strange organic forms, the Sculpture lamp is made from hand-moulded plaster. Each item is unique. This light is halfway between art and design. It has ramifications evoking a plant element or a living material. The slightly irregular lines and bumps are deliberately visible to communicate a hand-crafted feel and underline the object's raw attraction. The irregular, imperfect outlines reveal a primitive style that links past and present. The curved, soft lines break with our very strict, linear everyday environments. This creation emits a positive energy, blended with the sensuality of fluid and organic shapes. The airy structure plays on solid and empty spaces: it is a real object of contemplation! The Sculpture lamp is a unique decorative item. A white socket simply attached to a cable covered in a beige fabric is suspended in the centre of the structure, creating the warmest of light from inside. As such, the irregular lines of the sculpture produce a unique interplay of shadows.
