Second Nature Ethnicraft Tray, 53 x 31 cm, featuring an organic pattern in Auburn tones
The Ethnicraft Second Nature Tray, 53 x 31 cm, combines a rectangular shape with rounded corners and a graphic design inspired by the natural world. Against its warm auburn background, a multitude of small, irregular circular shapes form a rhythmic pattern, almost like a collection of close-up prints. The hand-printed glass is framed by natural oak veneer, creating a warm contrast between color, material, and design. Its medium size makes it a practical tray while maintaining a strong decorative presence.
When Nature’s Traces Become a Pattern
The Second Nature collection draws inspiration from natural details rarely considered decorative elements. Stacks of stones, tree bark, or visible marks on a turtle’s shell thus feed a vocabulary of abstract forms.
In this version, these references take the form of a multitude of small, irregular light beige rings arranged against an Auburn background. Their deliberately imperfect design avoids an overly geometric effect and gives the surface a more spontaneous rhythm. The natural oak edging around the tray softens the overall look and extends its organic inspiration.
What is a 53 x 31 cm tray used for?
A 53 x 31 cm tray offers enough space to carry several drinks, display a selection of objects, or organize everyday accessories. Its size, however, makes it easier to handle than a very large round tray.
It can be used on a coffee table, sideboard, console table, or kitchen island. Its elongated proportions also make it ideal for grouping several items into a decorative arrangement without taking up the entire surface of the piece of furniture.
How can you pair an Auburn tray with natural oak?
Auburn brown pairs particularly well with cream tones, beiges, muted greens, mineral grays, and various wood tones.
The light beige patterns and oak veneer naturally complement materials such as travertine stone, stone, linen, or ceramic. The tabletop can thus add warmth to a very minimalist decor or extend a palette already composed of earthy tones.
Are all Second Nature trays identical?
Since the glass is hand-printed, slight variations may occur from one piece to another. These variations are inherent to the artisanal nature of the manufacturing process and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.
PLEASE NOTE: Since these items are handmade, they may vary slightly from one piece to another. We consider this to be the hallmark of a one-of-a-kind object.
With its balanced proportions, nature-inspired pattern, and Auburn and Oak color palette, Second Nature remains functional without disappearing once the meal is over. Simply placed on a piece of furniture, it becomes a graphic element in its own right, adding rhythm and texture to the space.
