With her "Table nomade" collection, the Italian designer, Paola Navone, invites us on a culinary journey around the world. The mismatching and blended items take inspiration from different cultures: Japan, Turkey, Africa, Italy, China, Sweden, etc. They are brought together to compose a joyous, colourful table which mixes styles, materials and eras. With her Table nomade collection Paola Navone presents a tangible travel report in the form of a collection of 'souvenirs'. An ethnic chic style for this hammered steel cutlery, inspired by traditional African cutlery sets. They wonderfully reflect the unique expertise of the craftspeople: the patterns are engraved by skilfully hammering the hot metal to create a series of minuscule dents. The gloss finish gives them a sophisticated dimension. Paola Navone:"I have nomadic blood running through my veins. Travelling is my second nature. With the curiosity of an anthropologist, I explore everyday objects from different cultures and traditions. Distance is never an obstacle." During her many travels, Italian designer Paola Navone discovers new things every time.
