An icon of Scandinavian design! The String shelving system was designed in 1949 by the famous Swedish architect Nils Strinning. Completely modular, this shelving system gives you total freedom to customize the look, dimensions and functions of your Bookcase. All components (mounting brackets, shelves, Crates, etc.) are sold separately and are easy to assemble. You choose the number of uprights, the number and length of shelves, you can add Crate units... The String bookshelf is still made in Sweden to the highest quality standards. Its design has remained unchanged since 1949.
Building your String shelf couldn't be simpler! Shelves and Crates are freely arranged in the steel wire side mountings. You can choose between several types of shelves: Wood or Metal shelves (L 58 cm or L 78 cm), Magazine holders (L 78 cm) or shelves with 3 integrated Boxes (L 78 cm)... You can also choose a Crate with sliding doors or drawers.
Shelves and Crates fit easily into the Steel side mounts, without the need for tools. They can be positioned at any height. They're easy to assemble and disassemble, so you can change their position in the blink of an eye. Steel side mounts are wall-mounted.
To create your String composition, simply purchase a minimum of 2 side mounts. If you want to extend your Bookcase, you can add a third or more mounting brackets.

This Perforated metal shelf has a small rim (H 2 cm). Shelf length: L 58 x D 20 cm.

Low-edge Metal shelves are available in two widths, 58 and 78 cm, and two depths, 20 and 30 cm. The shelves are easy to move and compatible with String® System grid and plexiglass mountings, provided the shelves and mountings have the same depth. The 2 cm high rim allows the shelves to blend in with a combination of shelves and Wood shelves. Perforated shelves are the ideal base for giving free rein to your creativity with our accessories. Add hooks, bars or Glass Stands to create your own unique shelf. Each pack contains one Metal shelf.
