Silos Carafe and Box by Serax: Storage Takes on a Graphic Look
With the Silos Small carafe/box, Plan C transforms an everyday container into a true decorative object. Its cylindrical body made of clear glass is topped with a faceted geometric stopper, available in black, blue, yellow, or transparent. Measuring Ø 8 × H 24.5 cm, this slender container fits easily on a countertop or a table. Serax presents it as both a Carafe and a “storage pot”—a dual function that perfectly captures the collection’s free-spirited essence.
Silos: From Industrial Architecture to Household Object
Designed in 2025 by Plan C for Serax, the Silos collection draws inspiration from industrial storage architecture. Cylinders, simple volumes, and clean geometric lines serve as the starting point for more expressive household objects. Carolina Castiglioni, founder of Plan C, infuses the collection with her taste for bold shapes, unexpected color combinations, and vintage design.
On this container, the contrast is particularly striking. The perfectly transparent body reveals the contents, while the lid adds an almost precious touch. Its faceted handle evokes a gemstone and adds dimension to a deliberately minimalist silhouette.
What can you store in the Silos Small box?
Its dimensions—Ø 8 × H 24.5 cm—make it particularly well-suited for small or elongated dry foods. You can store coffee beans, tea, dried fruit, small cookies, or short breadsticks, among other things. Its small diameter means this preservation box takes up very little space on a countertop.
Can the Silos really be used as a Carafe?
Yes, the Silos carafe can also be used to serve water or a cold beverage. Keep in mind, however, that its opening is completely straight and does not have a pouring spout. It therefore requires a different serving technique than a traditional carafe designed specifically for precise pouring.
Which lid color should you choose?
Black accentuates the graphic contrast with the clear glass. Blue and yellow add a pop of color and fit perfectly into Plan C’s expressive aesthetic. The fully transparent version offers a cleaner, more minimalist look. The different variations can also be paired with other Silos pieces, as the collection was designed with a “mix & match” approach in mind.
Halfway between a storage container and a table centrepiece, Silos brings an architectural presence to very simple everyday gestures. A functional container that’s just as worthy of being used as it is of being displayed.
