Description
The transparency of high-end sound… An absolutely incredible neo-futuristic look for this transparent speaker made of tempered glass. The designers at the Swedish studio People People wanted to create a speaker that combines high-quality sound with a timeless design, capable of adapting to different interiors and lifestyles. The Transparent Speaker Small is not only a beautiful object but also a speaker with remarkable acoustic qualities. It offers enough external connectivity options to ensure it won’t quickly become obsolete.
The Transparent Speaker Small consists of a completely airtight glass crate, inside which two full-range speakers are housed, appearing to float in mid-air.
Two analog mini-jack inputs (one on the front panel and the other on the bottom of the Speaker) allow you to connect a smartphone, laptop, or audio player. The USB port located on the bottom of the speaker can power a Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi audio receiver (such as a Chromecast or Amazon Echo Input™), enabling wireless music streaming. A setup via Alexa also provides full access to the platform’s voice control features.
This speaker can also be part of a Sonos setup using a Sonos Connect hub. This is convenient for those who want to continue using this multi-room system.
Another interesting feature is True Wireless Pairing. This feature means the speaker supports wireless stereo when using two speakers. In other words, you can stream music to two Transparent speakers simultaneously and choose which speaker will function as the left or right channel—much like traditional column speakers—to create a true stereo image (this feature is currently available only on the Transparent Small speakers and not on the Transparent Big speakers).
Initially a confidential project, the Transparent Speaker was presented on a crowdfunding site to raise funds for a potential production run. It was a resounding success. The design team, supported by audio engineers, was then able to get to work….
