Description
Founded in 1867, France’s Maison PINTON has established itself as one of the greatest references for exceptional rugs and tapestry. Excellence and creativity are the hallmarks of this family business with its centuries-old know-how. Experienced in combining tradition and modernity, PINTON is committed to contemporary creation. The design house has always collaborated with great contemporary artists and renowned designers for its editions of rugs and art tapestries: Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau, Fernand Léger, Alexander Calder, Le Corbusier, René Magritte and, more recently, Fernando Botero, Beatriz Milahzes and Etel Adnan. Acquiring a PINTON rug means treating yourself to the creation of an artist, interpreted by a passionate craftsman. Still based on the historic site of Felletin, in Creuse, the factory remains the beating heart of the company’s know-how, renowned throughout the world. Some techniques have hardly changed for centuries: the craftsman's work requires the same precision, in the purest tradition of Aubusson rugs and tapestries. PINTON is the only manufacturer in France to offer this quality of tufted rug. Maison PINTON has made its know-how and great expertise available to designer Aurélia Paoli to create a range of luxurious, unique rugs called Suprematisme. A key figure in French creation, Aurélia Paoli shares with PINTON a predilection for traditional craftsmanship and modern creations. Solid colors give shape to the Suprematisme rug: a point of view on an electric blue, bordered by soft pink, stimulated by red. You’ll find all the artist’s influences: the simple, synthetic geometric lines, flat areas of electric colours, contrast, a certain idea of originality, the questioning of scale, a playful side... The very harmonious combination of colours and geometric shapes make the Suprematisme rug a magical picture. This masterful piece dresses the decoration of an interior in luxury while giving it a unique touch of elegance. Through patterns and prints, Aurélia Paoli finds an obvious way to pay homage to French cultural heritage. A majestic collection worthy of a unique union between the ancestral French know-how of PINTON and the great creativity of artist Aurélia Paoli. PINTON uses local wool of French and European origin. The wool is spun and dyed at the Felletin spinning mill. PINTON woollen rugs are a guarantee of comfort and quality. The hand-tufting technique is a process that combines ancestral know-how and modern weaving tools. PINTON showed its innovation by being one of the first manufacturers to use the gun tufting technique.
