Paul Smith, one of the UK's leading fashion designers, has created a new color palette for the Type 75 Mini lamp, an icon of British industrial design. The result of this collaboration is a range of models with skilfully crafted color palettes. Future collectors!
The brilliant British couturier got as close as possible to his own world as a stylist, tastefully combining colors as if he were designing a new ready-to-wear line to give this lamp a trendy "couture" look. Through this project, Paul Smith conveys his real sense of humor and playfulness mixed with his love for tradition and classicism. These colorful versions reflect the character of Pauli and his creations, a very English style with always a little unexpected detail.
Type 75 Mini is an Architect lamp with an industrial design typical of the '30s. The original model, the timeless Anglepoise ''Original 1227'' lamp, was designed in 1934 by engineer George Carwardine. His aim was to develop a flexible, adjustable yet perfectly stable Lamp. To achieve this, he used articulated arms with innovative springs that he himself invented and patented! The Type 75 Mini Lamp is a modernized, scaled-down version of Anglepoise's legendary 1227 model.
All Anglepoise lamps come with a lifetime warranty: a guarantee of durability, solidity and high quality. Anglepoise promises to repair or, if this is not possible, to replace your Lamp by recycling your old one.
