With Under The Bell Small, the Iskos-Berlin studio has designed an acoustic suspension that influences both the visual atmosphere and the acoustics of a room. Its wide, 55-cm lampshade features an enveloping bell shape with clean, graphic lines. Its soft material absorbs sound and helps reduce reverberation. This acoustic suspension is thus naturally suited for placement above a table, as well as in open spaces where light and acoustic comfort must coexist.

A bell that defines the space

For Iskos-Berlin, Under The Bell is conceived as much more than just a lampshade. Placed above a table or at the heart of an open space, its large dome visually defines a more intimate area. It envelops those seated beneath it and creates a sense of protection, almost like a small suspended structure. This approach comes into its own in a dining room, around a meeting table, or in large spaces where it’s necessary to create niches within the larger area.

Its lampshade is made of 49% fibers derived from post-consumer recycled plastic. This material gives “Under The Bell” its tactile quality and directly contributes to its acoustic function. Combined with the pendant’s unique shape, it helps absorb sound and improve the room’s acoustics.

How does an acoustic suspension reduce noise?
