Inflated design! The Zodiac mirror's frame is made up of two oblong struts, reminiscent of the inflatable boat whose name it bears. At first glance, the frame appears to be made of a flexible material, like inflated plastic. In reality, it's made of high-gloss rigid Ceramic: a stunning visual effect! The Zodiac Mirror Frame appears complete thanks to the inverted reflection of one half of its Ring on the mirror surface. The Zodiac mirror plays on its reflective surface to complete the "boudin" of which it is made. Zodiac is an object to look at and touch, to fully appreciate the exceptional Toy of materials.
Zodiac is a destabilizing mirror that makes you wonder what it's made of. Zodiac is a perfect illustration of the work of French designer Jean-Baptiste Fastrez. For him, objects must have character and provoke astonishment, even if it means disturbance.
A graduate of Ensci (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle), Jean-Baptiste Fastrez took his first steps under the direction of François Azambourg, then the Bouroullec brothers. Since then, he's been creating his own hybrid, ultra-creative style!
