Born in 1960, this architect training is part of a generation of Italian designers who have made themselves known in the 90 participating in the Memphis Group (founded by Ettore Sottsass in the 80s). Ferruccio Laviani truly launched his career by participating in international collections Memphis "12 Newcomers" (1986) and "Living on Earth" (1987). He collaborated among others with Achille Castiglioni, trademarks or Kartell Foscarini for which he created including table lamp Bourgie and Max, two of his biggest hits. Just like his famous lamp Orbital Ferruccio Laviani is a follower of a strong design colors, innovative and modern, exuberant and expressive. The artist is the epitome of creating both contemporary and futuristic. Ambassador of Italian design choices present and future Laviani marks the transition between the past and the design of the new generation.

Having been artistic director of the companies De Padova and Flos, Ferruccio Laviani in 1991 became head of the artistic direction of Kartell. Italian brand publishes many fixtures Laviani most recently signed by the lamp and suspension Taj Bloom. In parallel, the Milanese designer continues to work with the most prestigious companies of Italian design: Cassina, Moroso, Molteni, Foscarini, etc ...
