Description
An icon of industrial aesthetics since 1955, the Table 55 by Tolix has stood the test of time and style to become a classic in the collective memory, a "living heritage" that illustrates the French art of living... Its unfailing sturdiness, refined aesthetics and great practicality have led to a prestigious and successful career: it has been found on many a Coffee terrace, before entering the private sphere as early as the 1950s.
In 1955, Jean Pauchard was looking for his ideal Table. Base, leg, it's the foot that counts", he exclaimed. The T55 table was born: its tapered legs, made entirely of Steel, give it an airy grace, while attesting to the durability of its construction. On this two-material version, TOLIX plays on the contrast of materials: the steel legs of the original version are replaced by tapered legs in Solid oak. The rectangular Tray remains in Steel. This mix of styles gives it a warm, contemporary feel.
This table, which can seat up to 6 guests, adapts to any space, asserting its presence with refined subtlety.
This piece of furniture has been handcrafted in France using the same methods since 1927. The steel used is recycled (unused scrap metal is recycled). Each piece that leaves the workshops is therefore unique and bears the Tolix signature stamped into the metal. In 2006, Tolix was awarded the "Living Heritage Company" label by the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry. Paints are recyclable. Cardboard packaging is recycled and recyclable. Tolix is an eco-responsible company, classified as an ICPE (Installation Classée pour la Protection de l'Environnement): waste is recycled, materials are recycled and recyclable, and the heat generated by the machines is used for the factory's heating system.
