Alima NDS6 Shelf wood brown / 83 x W 38 x H 174 cm

Alima NDS6, the tall shelf that combines storage with a lightweight design

Tall without looking bulky, the Alima NDS6 shelf uses vertical space to provide ample storage capacity while maintaining a sense of openness. Measuring 83 cm (W) × 38 cm (D) × 174 cm (H), it features five 78-cm-wide shelves stacked within a slender chromed steel frame. The trays are available in natural oak or walnut veneer with solid wood edges. An open and balanced silhouette that allows you to organize as well as display, from the living room to the kitchen and the home office.

The spirit of mid-century Scandinavian shelves

With its open architecture, Alima NDS6 draws inspiration from mid-20th-century Scandinavian shelf systems. Its design emphasizes simplicity with clean horizontal lines, a slender metal frame, and the warmth of wood.

Its five levels add rhythm to the wall without obscuring it. The slim steel frame allows the eye to wander, while the shelves provide ample space for creative arrangement. The unit can thus be used for dense storage or, conversely, accented with just a few objects to create a more minimalist display.

Oak or Walnut: Two Distinct Styles

The shelves combine oak or walnut veneer with solid wood edges, while the frame is made of chromed steel. The wood is FSC-certified.

Natural oak offers a light tone that enhances the piece’s visual lightness. Walnut, with its deeper hue, accentuates the contrast with the metal and lends the piece greater warmth. In both versions, the shine of the chrome adds a contemporary touch to this mid-century-inspired silhouette.

In which room should you place the Alima NDS6?

Alima NDS6 can be used in various rooms depending on your storage needs. The model is designed just as well for organizing work files or Kitchenware as it is for displaying your favorite items.

In the living room, its five shelves hold books, coffee-table books, ceramics, lighting fixtures, and personal items. At the desk, its height makes it ideal for organizing files, binders, and office supplies. In the kitchen, it serves as open storage for kitchenware and items you want to keep within easy reach. In a dining room, it can showcase tableware and pieces of decoration. Its slim profile also makes it suitable for an entryway or bedroom, depending on the layout of the space.

What can you store on a five-tier shelf?

The five levels of the Alima NDS6 allow you to arrange items according to their function and how often they’re used. With shelves 78 cm wide, the unit offers several separate surfaces for organizing different categories of items.

This open configuration also serves a decorative purpose. Stacked books, ceramics, baskets, or a lamp can be alternated with areas left intentionally empty. The shelf thus becomes a vertical composition that evolves with the objects and their uses.

Is a tall shelf suitable for a compact space?

The vertical design of the Alima NDS6 allows for vertical storage while maintaining a compact width of 83 cm. It is 38 cm deep and stands 174 cm tall. This proportion is ideal when you want to maximize storage space without installing a very wide storage unit.

Its open structure also helps minimize its visual impact. Unlike a closed cabinet, it reveals the wall between the different levels, creating a more airy appearance.

Which finish should you choose: Oak or Walnut?

Natural oak is ideal for enhancing brightness, while walnut adds more depth to the overall look. Both versions feature the same chromed frame and dimensions. You can therefore make your choice based on the other woods, materials, and tones already present in the room.

Delivered flat-packed, Alima NDS6 offers an elegant solution to an everyday need: keeping things organized without hiding everything away. Whether used as a bookcase in the living room, open storage in the kitchen, a desk shelf, or a stand for your favorite items, it transitions between roles effortlessly. A vertical, graphic piece that makes storage a true part of the decoration.
