Painter and sculptor Giacomo Balla (1871-1958) spearheaded Futurism. He was particularly interested in the dynamism of color and light. The division of color into isolated patches that create the illusion of movement are his stylistic hallmark.
This wooden Folding screen is based on an original sketch on paper in gouache and pencil by the artist Giacomo Balla in 1917. Today, in collaboration with Balla's heirs, Cassina is bringing this acid-tone accessory back to life, to separate and complete the various spaces of the home with a strong artistic stamp.
The Balla Folding screen is made up of three panels of different height and width in Plywood, joined by hinges in Frozzed brass specially designed by Cassina: they carefully interpret the original design and can be turned in either direction.
The decoration, screen-printed on two sides, is available in two versions: on an orange background in the colors yellow and green, reflecting the colors of Balla's sketch, and on a white background in the colors blue and green.
The Balla Folding screen is part of the Cassina I Maestri Collection. It can be identified thanks to the control of three pieces of information that guarantee its authenticity: the author's signature in the form of a mark, the Cassina ''I Maestri'' logo, the identification number, present on every piece produced.
