Both the Berger and Méribel stools are inspired by the mountains, one named after the shepherds of the Alps who used this type of stool for milking, the other after the French town that Perriand loved so much. The elementary shapes evoke mountain architecture and ambience.
These stools are distinguished by the purity of their simple forms and by their pragmatic aspect, expressed by the material and function for which they are intended. The turned seat is matched by stylized legs, both for the Berger Stool, a low variant with three hand-turned solid wood legs, and for the Meribel Stool, a high version with three angular cutaway legs.
