In 1968, designer Anna Castelli Ferreri, wife of Kartell’s founder, created the famous Componibili storage unit. This molded plastic cylinder, with its simple and functional lines, symbolizes the design revolution that took place in the 1960s. Pop, democratic, accessible, bold, practical, and modular: this small piece of furniture perfectly meets the needs of an emerging new society.
The Kartell Componibili quickly gained popularity thanks to its extreme functionality. Compact and versatile, it fits into any room in the house, whether placed on the floor or atop a piece of furniture. It serves multiple purposes: as a nightstand in the bedroom, an end table in the living room, a small storage unit in the bathroom or kitchen, or even a stool when needed…
In production for nearly half a century, the Kartell Componibili has established itself over the decades as a true design classic. The recipient of numerous awards, it is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
