Jonathan Adler’s Eden Box: A Pop and Mesmerizing Design

Bold, colorful, and undeniably glamorous, Jonathan Adler’s Eden Box transforms an everyday object into a true decorative piece. Against a vibrant orange or Bright Yellow background, snakes with black-and-white graphic patterns undulate elegantly. Enhanced with sparkling gold accents, this enamelled china box plays with contrasts and classic references to create an object that is as precious as it is irreverent. A design that doesn’t go unnoticed and infuses every interior with a touch of eccentricity.

A graphic bestiary blending luxury and whimsy

With the Eden collection, Jonathan Adler reinterprets the serpent motif in a pop and sophisticated style. A symbol of mystery and seduction, the reptile unfurls here in sinuous arabesques across a surface of vibrant colors. Its black-and-white body, composed of small geometric patterns, contrasts with the depth of the glossy glaze. Gold borders highlight the box’s contours, while its conical lid and flared base give it the allure of a precious object.

Crafted from high-temperature-fired China, “Eden” exemplifies the American designer’s taste for expressive objects that straddle the line between decorative art and whimsy. A trained ceramicist, Jonathan Adler presented his first collection of pottery at Barneys in New York in 1993. To this day, every new ceramic creation takes shape in his SoHo studio, where the original model is hand-sculpted from clay.

What can you store in Jonathan Adler’s Eden box?

This decorative box with a lid provides an elegant way to store small everyday items. Jewelry, accessories, keys, or precious mementos all find their place inside. Its removable lid makes it easy to access the contents, while its refined design invites you to display it rather than hide it away. An accessory that combines storage with visual appeal.

Which color and size should you choose for the Eden box?

Jonathan Adler’s Eden collection comes in two versions with complementary styles. The yellow model, measuring 11 cm in diameter and 16 cm in height, adds a sunny, sparkling touch. The slimmer orange version, measuring 11 cm in diameter and 24 cm in height, exudes a flamboyant character. Displayed alone on a console table, bookcase, or mantelpiece, these boxes immediately catch the eye. Paired together, they create a striking visual ensemble that plays on contrasts in color and proportion.

How should you care for the Eden China box?

The Eden box should be hand-washed to preserve the luster of its glaze and gold accents. Clean gently with a soft Sponge and avoid abrasive products that could damage its glossy finish.

Presented in an elegant gift box, the Eden box by Jonathan Adler makes for an original gift idea for lovers of design and unique objects. With its mesmerizing snakes, vibrant colors, and luxurious look, it invites you to embrace a more free-spirited decoration style, where luxury and whimsy come together with flair.
