Designer Alexander Girard is one of the most important figures in the history of post-war American design, along with his colleagues George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames. Girard brought to 20th-century design a seductive, playful dimension that was missing from the austere aesthetics of classical modernism. During his numerous travels, Alexander Girard passionately collected fabrics and folk art objects from all over the world. In 1993, he bequeathed many of these objects and hundreds of designs to the Vitra Design Museum. The ''Girard Ornaments'' collection of hanging decorations includes many designs - Heart, Sun, Moon, Dove, Mouse - which were chosen by Vitra in cooperation with the Girard family, from the wide range of designs created by the designer. These hanging decorations are made of metal with a polished brass finish. Perfect hanging on the tree for the Christmas holidays, you can also hang them anywhere in the house, on door knobs etc.
