Magna Graecia Luna Wall decoration: Mediterranean Poetry by Seletti

Blending ancient art with contemporary whimsy, the Magna Graecia Luna wall decoration brings a unique presence to your spaces. This dreamy moon, designed by Antonio Aricò for Seletti, reimagines Mediterranean symbols through a graphic, playful, and deeply decorative style.

A story inspired by Magna Graecia

The Magna Graecia collection draws its roots from the history of southern Italy. Hailing from Calabria, Antonio Aricò pays homage to this region shaped by over 2,500 years of Greek influences. Ancient statues, mythology, folk traditions, and archaeological remains inspire a collection where the past engages with the present. With its lunar profile, sleepy features, and stylized hair, this wall decoration evokes the celestial imagery found in Mediterranean art. Crafted from terracotta-finished clay, it retains all the warmth and authenticity of a material deeply rooted in the cultures of the Mediterranean basin.

A wall decoration designed for both indoor and outdoor use

Thanks to its frost- and UV-resistant terracotta construction, Magna Graecia Luna is equally at home in a living room as it is on a terrace, balcony, or patio. Its dimensions—L 26 x H 32 cm—make it easy to create a focal point on a wall without cluttering the space. Used alone or paired with other pieces from the collection, this outdoor decoration instantly adds depth and character. It’s the kind of object that transforms a blank wall into a true decorative statement.

The Seletti Spirit: A Blend of Humor and Culture

To bring Magna Graecia to life, Antonio Aricò first created a series of drawings, which were then rendered in three dimensions using 3D modeling. The final forms faithfully capture the spontaneous energy of the original sketch. This approach gives the collection a unique style, halfway between ancient Sculpture, contemporary illustration, and design object. Whether in a Mediterranean, bohemian, or eclectic interior, or in a sunny outdoor space, this Terracotta moon adds an artistic touch not found in any traditional wall decoration.

Hanging on a light-drenched wall, above a garden furniture set, or in an entryway, Magna Graecia Luna creates a warm and evocative atmosphere. A creation that celebrates history, travel, and the Mediterranean imagination with Seletti’s signature creative freedom, crafting a vibrant and inspiring decoration that evolves with the seasons.
