Part of the "free-form" furniture developed by Charlotte Perriand between 1938 and 1939, the Table Mexique was designed and produced in 1952 for the student rooms of the Maison du Mexique at the Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris. The table is characterized by its organic, soft, enveloping forms. With no corners, it exalts the natural beauty of Solid wood.
In 1952, the designer replaced the wooden legs with triangular-section legs in folded sheet metal. In 1956, a low version was produced for the Galerie Steph Simon in Paris. The great thickness of the Solid wood Tray with its rounded edges conveys a remarkable beauty.
The Mexico Table is meticulously crafted by experienced artisans, embodying the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. Cassina's perfectionist craftsmanship contributes to the myth of these iconic pieces of furniture that will accompany the lives of many generations.
Cassina's original Charlotte Perriand furniture can be identified by the control of three pieces of information that guarantee its authenticity: the author's signature in the form of a mark, the Cassina logo ''I Maestri'', the identification number, present on every piece produced.
