Created in 2026 to celebrate the centennial of the PH system, the PH 2/2 Centenary Edition wall light pays homage to one of Poul Henningsen’s most iconic explorations of light. Its design draws on the principle of three stacked lampshades invented in 1926, designed to provide harmonious, comfortable, and glare-free lighting. For this 2026 Limited Edition, Louis Poulsen combines a lacquered burnished brass frame with an amber upper lampshade and two lower lampshades made of white Opal Glass.
Warm, controlled light
The PH 2/2 Centenary Edition is based on the PH system with three lampshades. The top Amber lampshade diffuses a warm light upward, while the two lower Opaline white lampshades direct a soft, diffused light downward. Together, they combine atmospheric lighting with visual comfort without causing glare.
All three lampshades are made of mouth blown glass. The top lampshade consists of four layers of amber glass, while the two lower lampshades feature three layers of opaline white glass. All are glossy on the outside and have a matt, sanded white finish on the inside to precisely control light diffusion.
