PH 2/2 Centenary Edition Wall light, 100 Years of PH Light
Created in 2026 to celebrate the centennial of the PH system, the PH 2/2 Centenary Edition wall light pays homage to one of Poul Henningsen’s most iconic explorations of light. Its design draws on the principle of three stacked lampshades invented in 1926, designed to provide harmonious, comfortable, and glare-free lighting. For this 2026 Limited Edition, Louis Poulsen combines a lacquered burnished brass structure with an amber upper lampshade and two lower lampshades made of white opal glass.
Warm, controlled light
The PH 2/2 Centenary Edition is based on the PH system with three lampshades. The top amber lampshade diffuses a warm light upward, while the two lower Opal white lampshades direct a soft, diffused light downward. Together, they combine atmospheric lighting with visual comfort without causing glare.
The three lampshades are made of mouth-blown glass. The top lampshade consists of four layers of Amber glass, while the two lower lampshades feature three layers of Opal white glass. All are glossy on the outside and have a mat white finish on the inside, allowing for precise control of light diffusion.

What bulb should be used with the PH 2/2 Centenary Edition?
The PH 2/2 Centenary Edition uses an LED bulb E14, not included. To ensure a warm light that complements the Amber glass, a warm white bulb around 2700 K is particularly well-suited.
An LED wattage of approximately 3.4 to 5 W, providing a flux of roughly 250 to 470 lumens, is well-suited for this type of light fixture. The goal is to preserve the soft, glare-free light characteristic of the PH system. The switch is built into the wall housing.
