Description
Charles & Ray Eames are among the most important design personalities of the 20th century. Their work includes furniture design, film and photography, and exhibition design.
Charles & Ray Eames spent many years experimenting with new techniques for adapting three-dimensional glued laminated wood to the shape of the human body. The result was the Plywood Group chairs, which have become classics that are as relevant today as they ever were. Within the Plywood Group, they have combined seats and backrests with different Legs. Thanks to the organic shape of the Plywood Shells and the slightly flexible backrests, these lightweight, compact chairs offer great comfort - even in the unupholstered versions. The seat and backrest are connected to the Legs by flexible rubber connectors that adapt to the body's position. Thanks to the slim organic shapes of its seat and back shells, the Plywood Group armchair quickly earned the nickname "potato chip chair".
