Silos Serax Dessert Plates: Geometry Takes on New Dimensions
With the Silos dessert plates, Plan C brings the collection’s graphic universe to life in China. Their 24-cm diameter retains a classic round shape, but their surface is structured by slanted panels and geometric folds that completely transform the way the plate is perceived. Available in sets of 2, they come in two distinct designs, Silos 02 and Silos 03, each featuring its own unique composition of facets.
Plan C: From Fashion to Design
Behind Plan C is Carolina Castiglioni, daughter of Consuelo and Gianni Castiglioni, founders of Marni. After spending many years immersed in this family creative world, she launched her own label in 2018. Her design language blends bold shapes, unexpected color combinations, and a deliberately playful approach. An avid collector of vintage design, Carolina Castiglioni channeled this sensibility into her first design collection, developed with Serax in 2025.
Silos: Industrial Architecture as a Starting Point
The Silos collection draws inspiration from industrial storage structures. Plan C takes their vocabulary—composed of geometric volumes, sloping planes, and functional forms—and translates it into household objects. This architectural rigor is then softened by Carolina Castiglioni’s freer, more expressive approach.
On the plates, this principle becomes particularly intriguing. The rounded exterior contrasts with an interior surface divided into several planes. The raised areas and changes in angle create a genuine sense of depth, almost as if a small geometric structure had been embedded within the China.
What is the difference between Silos 02 and Silos 03?
Both versions have the same diameter of 24 cm, but their interior designs differ. Silos 02 and Silos 03 do not share the same folds or the same arrangement of facets. They can therefore be chosen separately or paired together to create a deliberately mismatched table setting, while still maintaining a shared identity.
Are these plates only suitable for dessert?
No. With a 24-cm diameter, they can hold a dessert, an appetizer, or a small savory dish. Their size makes them more versatile than a traditional small dessert plate, while their textured surface particularly highlights a carefully arranged presentation.
Can you mix different Silos designs on the same table?
Yes. Mixing and matching is an integral part of the Silos concept. Serax presents the collection as a set that can be freely customized by combining shapes, colors, and materials. Alternating between Silos 02 and Silos 03 creates a sense of rhythm without losing the visual cohesion of the set.
