Architecture remains the main protagonist of this new edition. Transparent highlights the object's complex geometry, reminiscent of a skyscraper. The statuesque shape of the Vase is crafted to the highest standards, using a particularly complex process.
Skyscraper is made of Transparent glass, mechanically pressed inside a Cast iron mold to reproduce the shape of a building and its precious architectural details - an extremely complex process, given the glass's great thickness. Moreover, to represent Skyscraper's architectural details, the glass is processed at very high temperatures to make it as fluid as possible and adhere to the mold's geometry.
A pioneer always ahead of her time, Bodil Kjær was never satisfied with the traditional furniture of her day. She, who "never wanted to follow in the footsteps of the pack of Danish designers", quickly understood the importance of the flexibility of spaces and their furniture. Keeping in mind the context in which her creations would be used, her leitmotif was to create functional, aesthetic and versatile pieces, with the bare essentials. An avant-garde vision to which Cassina pays tribute by bringing her work up to date.
