True pioneers of Danish design in the mid-20th century, Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) took an avant-garde approach to industrialized production. Today, their work is exhibited at MoMA, the National Gallery in Melbourne and the Design Museum in Copenhagen.
Le Duo created the Tripod lamp in 1953. Never produced before, this is the first time it has been produced, much to the delight of collectors and vintage design enthusiasts.
This luminaire illustrates the minimalism that permeates all Hvidt & Mølgaard creations. The Lamp Tripod features geometric, balanced lines. Tripod strikes a delicate balance between the austere simplicity of its design and the softness of its curved lines.
The colored metal is enhanced by a few details in Gold brass, adding a sophisticated dimension to the whole.
A swivel joint has been added to the Lampshade for easy orientation of the light - a feature now present throughout the Tripod range.
The Wall light version is a new addition to the Tripod collection: this adaptation is inspired by the sketches of the original Lamp by Hvidt & Mølgaard.
