Jean Prouvé's creations have become icons of the post-war period and have spanned the whole century. Developed by Jean Prouvé in 1951, the Direction Pivoting Armchair is a typical example of the distinctive structural aesthetics of his designs. It combines simple surfaces with a comfortable seat and backrest, thus forming an architectural entity. This armchair on wheels has a swivel seat which is infinitely height-adjustable by means of a gas spring. The backrest has a rear tilt mechanism that adapts to the user's weight (can be locked in the upright position). Combined with generous padding, these features ensure great comfort.
