Gigi No. 1 Capri Pendant Light: the modular light fixture made in Paris

With its bold colors and layered shapes, the Gigi No. 1 pendant light by Warren & Laetitia transforms lighting into a true decorative composition. This Capri version plays with different shades of blue, accented by a touch of Butter Yellow and a burgundy cable that creates a striking graphic contrast. Its originality, however, goes far beyond color. Manufactured in Paris using 3D printing from recycled and recyclable plastics, Gigi consists of three interchangeable units that anyone can freely assemble around the Bulb.

A construction game turned into a light fixture

Gigi is not a static pendant light. Its three colorful elements can be moved and rearranged to alter the volumes and layering. Much like a construction game, the lamp thus offers ample room for personalization.

This design allows you to refresh its appearance without replacing the light fixture itself—a particularly appealing approach for interiors where the decoration evolves over time. Straight and undulating shapes, along with opaque and Translucent sections, interplay to create an expressive silhouette without overwhelming the space.

In the Capri version, various shades of blue set the tone. Sky blue and a deeper blue overlap around a touch of Butter Yellow, while the burgundy cable provides a sharp graphic contrast. A fresh and expressive palette that highlights Gigi’s signature interplay of volumes without overwhelming the space.

When 3D printing becomes an aesthetic signature

Warren & Laetitia design and manufacture their light fixtures in their studio in Paris’s 20th arrondissement. Gigi is created using 3D printing, a technique that builds each piece through successive layers of material.

Rather than trying to hide this process, the designers deliberately accentuate the striations. These regular ridges give the surface its characteristic texture and immediately reveal how it was made. Slight irregularities may vary from one piece to another. They are inherent to this process and contribute to the uniqueness of each Lamp.

The pendant lamp bears the “Made in Paris” label . Its electrical system is also assembled in Paris by workers with disabilities at the ESAT de la Bièvre.

A Material with a Different Approach

Gigi’s design is based on recycled and recyclable plastic sourced from France and Europe. Warren & Laetitia use, in particular, rPLA derived from recycled food packaging, PLA made from cornstarch, and rPETG made from recycled plastic bottles.

Here, this material becomes a true design language. 3D printing allows for the creation of textures, transparencies, and variations in volume that give the collection its identity. Local manufacturing and the choice of materials are thus integral to the lamp’s design rather than merely being added features.

Where should you hang a small pendant with a 28-cm diameter?

With its dimensions of Ø 28 x H 21 cm, Gigi No. 1 is particularly well-suited for hanging above a small table, in an entryway, or in a bedroom. Its compact size allows you to create a decorative light source without visually weighing down the space.

It also lends itself particularly well to clustered installations. Placing several Gigi pendant lights at different heights creates a more dramatic arrangement above a table or in a room with high ceilings. The variations in shape and color further enhance its graphic appeal.

Can the Gigi pendant light serve as the main light source?

The Gigi No. 1 uses an LED bulb E27 with a maximum wattage of 7 W, which is roughly equivalent to an old 50 W incandescent bulb. Its light is particularly well-suited for creating a focal point above a small table, in an entryway, or in a bedroom.

In a larger room, it works well as a complement to other light sources or in a cluster with several Gigi pendant lights. This setup allows for better light distribution while enhancing the decorative impact of the installation.

What type of bulb should be used with the Gigi pendant light?

You must use an LED bulb E27 with a maximum wattage of 7 W. Do not use a halogen bulb E27, as the heat it emits could warp the lamp’s plastic components. The manufacturer recommends a bulb with a diameter of 6 cm or 9.5 cm, depending on the model. The bulb is not included.
