With a diameter of 90 cm, the Neutra pendant light fully embodies the futuristic design conceived by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell. Two stacked elements, resembling large shells, interlock to enclose the light source and create a slender, almost lunar silhouette. Despite its generous dimensions, its profile—just 22 cm high—retains a sense of visual lightness. Neutra thus becomes a true element of interior architecture, capable of defining a spacious living room, dining room, or professional space without overwhelming the room.

A large light disc designed to control glare

Ferruccio Laviani’s design here relies on the interplay between a large outer dome and a white internal diffuser. The diffuser distributes light across its entire surface to provide uniform, sustained illumination without direct exposure to the light sources. This design allows the Neutra to be installed above a large table without dazzling those seated there. The new version combines polycarbonate 2.0 made from renewable raw materials with a diffuser made from Recycled PMMA, advancing the use of materials while preserving the model’s visual identity.

Can the Neutral Ø 90 cm pendant light illuminate a large room?

Yes. With a total luminous flux of 7,350 lumens, the Neutral Ø 90 cm can serve asthe main light source for a large room. Its three included 18 W LED bulbs E27 emit a warm 2,700 K light, suitable for a living room, a large dining room, or an open space. The high light output is softened by the internal diffuser, which prevents the light from being too direct and helps distribute it more evenly throughout the room. The bulbs are also replaceable.
