Neutra Pendant Light, Ø 90 cm: A Spectacular Design by Ferruccio Laviani

With a diameter of 90 cm, the Neutra pendant light fully embodies the futuristic design conceived by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell. Two stacked elements, resembling large shells, interlock to enclose the light source and create a slender, almost lunar silhouette. Despite its generous dimensions, its profile—just 22 cm high—retains a sense of visual lightness. Neutra thus becomes a true element of interior architecture, capable of defining a spacious living room, dining room, or professional space without overwhelming the room.

A large light disc designed to control glare

Ferruccio Laviani’s design here relies on the interplay between a large outer dome and a white internal diffuser. The diffuser distributes light across its entire surface to achieve uniform, sustained illumination without direct exposure to the light sources. This design allows the Neutra to be installed above a large table without dazzling those seated there. The new version combines polycarbonate 2.0 made from renewable raw materials with a diffuser made from Recycled PMMA, advancing the use of materials while preserving the model’s visual identity.

Can the Neutral Ø 90 cm pendant light illuminate a large room?

Yes. With a total luminous flux of 7,350 lumens, the Neutra Ø 90 cm can serve asthe main light source for a large room. Its three included 18 W LED bulbs E27 emit a warm 2,700 K light, suitable for a living room, a large dining room, or an open space. The high light output is softened by the internal diffuser, which prevents the light from being too direct and helps distribute it more evenly throughout the room. The bulbs are also replaceable.

Where should you install a 90-cm-diameter Pendant?

A 90-cm pendant light really shines in spacious rooms. Neutra can be placed in the center of a large living room, above a generously sized dining table, or in an open-concept space. Its diameter creates a strong focal point, while its horizontal profile allows for an unobstructed view of the space. Its adjustable cable, which extends up to 230 cm, also makes it easy to adapt to different ceiling heights.

Which finish should you choose for the large Neutral pendant light?

Neutra is available in Black, White, Burgundy, Forest green, and Mustard yellow, with a white interior in every version. Black accentuates its graphic character and futuristic silhouette. White visually lightens its large diameter. Burgundy creates a deeper, more sophisticated presence. Forest green adds a natural, bold tone, while Mustard yellow transforms the pendant into a true focal point in the room. The ceiling rose, which matches the lampshade, extends the finish all the way to the ceiling.

Is it easy to adjust the height of Neutra?

Yes. Neutral features an adjustable cable up to 230 cm, as well as a system that allows for precise leveling. This feature is particularly useful for a large-diameter light fixture, which must remain perfectly horizontal to maintain the balance of its silhouette and ensure even light distribution.

With its size and luminous power, the Neutra Ø 90 cm goes beyond the role of a simple decorative pendant light. It becomes a true central light source, capable of illuminating a large space while giving the room an immediately recognizable graphic signature.
