The Aluminium Flesh is one of the great classics of 20th-century design history. Charles & Ray Eames designed and developed this chair in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus (Indiana, USA). For its construction, the design duo abandoned the idea of a seat shell and instead stretched a fabric or Leather board between two aluminum side mountings, creating a firm yet supple seat. The seat adapts to the contours of the body and is extremely comfortable, even without sophisticated padding.

The EA 118 is an armchair with a swivel seat, a 5-star base with casters and a medium-high backrest. It features a reclining mechanism that can be adapted to the user's weight, providing optimum comfort. Seat height is infinitely adjustable via gas springs. EA 118 also features a slightly narrower seat: the sitting position on this model is more specifically suited to activities taking place at a table.
